Roof care maintenance will prolong the life of any roof -- even the best of them. There should be a regular schedule of roof inspections. These inspections should take place at least twice a year, preferably at the end of fall, before the roof passes through the period of severe stress, and at the beginning of spring.

The impact of falling or dropped objects is a roofing hazard.
Debris
If your roof inspections have been irregular, you may find dirt and debris have accumulated to such an extent that vegetation is taking root. Even small amounts of dust, dirt, leaves or twigs will inhibit the normal flow of rain water, hold moisture and clog drains.
Flashing
Masonry or carpentry faults instead of flashing failure may be the reason.
Parapets and Copings
Open joints in a brick parapet wall will generally cause leaks. Water that enters the joints, and works its way down through the wall, can go behind the flashing and penetrate under the roofing.

Roof ventilators which expand and contract with changes in temperatures.

Self-bearing trusses and rafters that support the sheathing.

Boards or sheet material fastened to the roof rafters to cover a house.

A sheet of asphalt-saturated material used as a secondary protective layer for the roof deck.

The shape and slope that allows a roof to shed water.

All Pro Roofing was founded in 1993 by Rob Petrik, who originally conceived it as merely a hobby portfolio. The reputation of All Pro Roofing quickly spread amongst the communities of Southwestern Ontario. All Pro Roofing has achieved tremendous notoriety in the roofing industry ever since it had started to be specializing mainly in roofing since 1998. Realizing the true potential of the trade, Rob decided to expand operations in early 2001, and partnered the company with a small group of roofing professionals who brought an aggregate 25 years of prior roofing industry experience to the company. BARE SPOTS — The protective granular surface of shingles wears off as the asphalt, into which the granules are embedded, begins to harden over time. Bare spots are often accompanied by fine fissures on the shingles' surface and by the accumulation of granules in the gutters.
CURLING — The upward curling of shingle tabs makes them highly susceptible to wind and ice damage. This is a problem on older roofs where moisture build-up in the attic affects the underside of the shingle. Insufficient ventilation causes the attic to heat up and act as an "oven" in the summer and the extreme heat makes the shingles curl in their corners.
BROKEN SHINGLES — Damage can be caused by extreme wind conditions and snow removal. Since shingles are supposed to shed water, broken, torn or missing tabs become obvious entry points for water, especially on low-slope roofs where run-off is slower and at the peaks of the roof where shingles are the most vulnerable to high winds.
BUCKLING — Buckling is a visible distortion or waviness in the horizontal lines of shingles and usually runs in a straight line up the roof slope. Shingle tabs become exposed to wind and can be torn off. Very often, the problem is warping in the roof deck caused by poor attic ventilation. The use of thinner-than-recommended plywoods and other non-plywood materials adds to the problem.
FLASHING — Many problems occur at the flashings around vents, soil stacks, chimneys and vertical wall joints. Is the flashing cracked? Is the caulking around the flashing dried out?
